Sony’s “smart TV” could very well be up against rumored Apple TV

The CEO of Japanese electronics Sony, Howard Stringer said earlier today that they are working on a new type of tv that could revolutionize the tv industry. Sales has not been doing well for Sony televisions that uses Google TV. With sales below expectations, Sony said they will are working on a new smart TV platform that could interact with contents for mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and other TV sets.

One thing for sure though, Sony is going to need any bit of innovative idea they can come up with as there’s rumor that the now deceased Steve Jobs was also working on the reinvention of its Apple TV. This is quite a challenge for Sony as Apple has always been in a league of their own when it comes to presenting their products and appealing consumers. Apple never stops to amuse the population of its breakthrough technology, but with the loss of our beloved Jobs, can the team fill the void, more importantly, does Sony have a higher competitive success because of Jobs’s absence?

Unfortunately, there’s minimal information on both parties as to what new technological advancements is up for the world to witness, but for the time being, just sit back and enjoy the ride. There’s will be more on this topic when more is revealed to the media.
