Google has finally released a new update for its Gmail app on iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch, and it’s pretty hefty. Version 2.0 provides an all-new layout, lots of new animations, autocomplete predictions during typing, the ability to login to up to five Google Accounts from the menu and freely switch between them, commenting on Google+ posts, and more. You can thank the people behind Sparrow, a popular Gmail client for iOS, for the new update because they’ve been bought by Google to improve on the company’s app.
You can download the new Gmail app here if you’re new, but current Gmail users be warned: there’s been lots of talk about the app not updating for people who already downloaded it in the past. A current fix is to simply delete the Gmail app from the phone/tablet/other gizmo, and redownload and reinstall it from the App Store.
