Samsung Galaxy S III may be the best smartphone in the world, coming to Verizon, AT&T and others

Samsung is slated to launch its next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S III in the U.S in early June.  The new Galaxy will be released on Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and U.S. Cellular.

The U.S. version of the phone will run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and feature a 1.5 GHz Snapdragon S4 processor from Qualcomm as opposed to Samsung’s own quad-core Exynos processor found in the international version. It would have been the first smartphone featuring a quad-core processor.  However, the dual-core processor should offer competitive performance against the quad-core version without sacrificing battery life as much.  The phone also has a brilliant 4.8″ HD Super AMOLED display. It sports a back and front camera that respectively shoots 8- and 2-megapixels and 1080p/720p HD video.

The exact date of release may vary by carrier.  Sprint announced on Monday that it will start taking pre-orders on June 5th and officially launch it on June 21st.  Sprint will be offering the Samsung Galaxy S III  in a 16GB version for $199.99 and 32GB version for $249.99 (excluding taxes) with a new line or eligible upgrade and two-year service agreement at Sprint Stores, Sprint Business Sales, Telesales (1-800-SPRINT1) and Web Sales (www.sprint.com). The 32GB version will be available exclusively through Web Sales.

T-Mobile has also released a statement saying it will debut the S III on June 21st as well. AT&T has not released any specific dates yet other than saying it’s coming soon. AT&T customers will also have exclusive access to a red version of the Galaxy S III this summer, for red, white and blue color choices. The smartphone will be available for $199.99 for the 16 GB model after a two-year service agreement, and AT&T stores will also feature a 16 GB MicroSD card at a low price of $39 for a total of 32 GB for under $238.99.

Verizon has said its  Galaxy S III will be available online for pre-order starting June 6 at 7 a.m. ET and will be available in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online in the coming weeks. The phone will be available in 16 GB and 32 GB models for $199.99 and $249.99 respectively with a new two-year customer agreement. Customers will also have the choice of the Galaxy S III in two colors, Marble White or Pebble Blue. Customers that purchase a Galaxy S III will need to subscribe to a 4G LTE mobile broadband data package starting at $30 monthly access for 2 GB of data.

Feel free to check out the full features.
