Red Dead Redemption, the game which we can now safely call the first great western game, has officially reach blockbuster status. Take-Two Interactive, the publisher of the title, announced yesterday that it had shipped over 5 million units since its May release. Take-Two went further, stating the obvious when they called RDR “an important new franchise”.
Fans of the game have something to look forward to as well, with Rockstar putting out a Co-Op DLC later this month and more multiplayer goodies in the fall.
During the same quarterly phone call with analysts, Take-Two announced some other news in regards to Max Payne 3. It looks like fans of the series will have to wait a little bit longer to send their favorite cop back into bullet-time, as the release date has been pushed back into fiscal 2011, meaning the earliest you can expect to see the game is November 1st 2010.
