Yesterday, hidden in an innocuous press release regarding the Halo: Reach Beta was the release date for Halo: Reach. The game, which looks to be the culmination of the Halo series (at least as developed by Bungie) will be released on September 14th everywhere but Japan, which will receive the title on the 15th. Reach will take place on, appropriately enough, the planet Reach. It will put gamers in the shoes of Noble-6, a Spartan in Noble team as they attempt to defend the planet, one of the few remaining human hold-outs from the covenant.
Also disclosed in the press release was stats from the beta, which ran over the past couple of weeks, encompassed 2.7 million Xbox 360 users who logged over 1 billion kills. You can check out our own Kyle Loh’s impression on the Beta here.
