Monster Products is known for their aggressive sponsorships, having previously partnered with Nick Cannon, Drew Brees, Earth, Wind & Fire, Xzibit, and Dr. Dre. Building a strong brand has been a top priority for the “Head Monster”, CEO Noel Lee, and Monster’s latest celebrity sponsor is one of the biggest names worldwide. Monster has recently announced a partnership with 4-time NBA Champion Shaquille O’Neal to promote several of its new products.
O’Neal, who already endorses Buick Automobiles, Icy Hot, and Kraft Foods, has teamed up with Monster to promote two new products from the company – a brand new entry-level tablet and a new line of rechargeable battery packs for smartphones. The new Monster M7 tablet is priced at only $149 (available exclusively at Walmart.com) and seeks to capture customers who don’t want to spend $400+ on an iPad or Galaxy Note 10.2.
Monster’s new line of POWERCARD rechargeable batteries aims to revolutionize how consumers recharge their smartphones. The POWERCARD batteries are credit-card sized, super thin, and will be able to charge your smartphone in less than one-third the time as traditional USB 2.0 rechargeable batteries. The POWERCARD batteries will be priced at $49.95 and will be available in Verizon stores.
Monster has been one of our favorite companies throughout the past several years. I have enjoyed attending their CES Press Conference for the last three years, and I’m looking forward to attending their press conference at the 2014 CES, which is only two months away. Hopefully we’ll be able to get some review units of both the M7 tablet and POWERCARD rechargeable batteries and let you know how they stand up to the competition.
