Many people out there raised an eyebrow or two when Google invested $100 million in Zynga last year. In case you didn't know, they're developer of games like FarmVille, CityVille and all of those games. You know the ones where people run out of class to pick their strawberries before they go bad? Those. And now with Engadget uncovering code within Google+ regarding Google+ Games, it seems likely that that investment is going to pay off.
These games have been a boon to Facebook just in terms of traffic alone. If they migrate over to Google+, it's a double whammy. It takes Facebook exclusives away and drives those consumers to Google+, the competition.
We'll likely find out more regarding these Google+ games as well as others once Google+ comes out of invite only service.
