So people, you may have realized that we haven't posted news on friday or today, and you deserve an answer for that (the few of you who read this regularly :P). Basically I became dissatisfied with the direction that content was taking and the results that said content was yielding, so I decided to take a week off to talk to everyone else and reevaluate the type of information you'll be seeing, read on to find out changes that are coming next week.
The biggest change you'll be seeing is in the news we report. As a group we've come to the conclusion that reporting on the big releases from EA, Activision, and Ubisoft isn't really worth it. There are other websites who have bigger budgets, full time writers, and more access than we do. Therefore, it's real difficult for us to bring you quality content that you can't get on some other website.
Instead, we're going to shift our focus into reporting on smaller games and companies. This will, of course, mean a hefty dose of indie games on the Xbox 360 and PC, but it will also encompass a focus on all digitally distributed platforms including XBLA, WiiWare, PSN, Minis, and DSiWare and even on-disc content that might otherwise be overlooked at larger websites who might otherwise be cast by the wayside at a larger video game site.
To compliment this, we're also looking to add some new types of feature content, but those are still in process and not quite ready to be revealed yet. However, we're looking to bring some more discussion to the website and more sit down time with developers.
We'll be taking the rest of the week off while everything gets sorted out. Until then, if you're interested in jumping on board and writing news, reviews, or features, feel free to drop me an email at jmaltz[at]pnosker[dot]com or tweet me at @maltzj.
