With the countdown to Christmas now squarely under one work week, we've got a fist full of news for you. Most notable is the announcement of a (very close) release date for DC Universe Online. However, that's not all, as today's daily news update also sports a way to earn ten thousand dollars from Topware and much much more.

After a delay back at NYCC, DC Comics fans now know exactly when they'll be able to team up Batman and company thanks to Sony Online Entertainment's announcement that their MMORPG has gone gold.  Along with this news, there was the information that the game will be made available at retailers on January 11th in America and January 14th in Europe.

Purchase of the full version of the game will also give gamers a full month of access to the MMO, with additional months costing $14.99 each.  Alternatively, you can also purchase a three-month subscription for $41.99, a half year subscription for $77.99, a full year at $143.99, or PC specific gamers can even purchase a lifetime subscription at the slightly higher price of $199.99.

Starting today, fans of KISS will be able to rock out with their favorite band in Warriors of Rock.  The Guitar Hero developer announced today that they are releasing a three song pack which includes

  • Rock and Roll All Nite
  • Detroit Rock City
  • Calling Dr. Love

The three songs are available now and will make your virtual wallet 440 MSP, $5.49, or 550 Wii Points lighter.

Not to be left out of the price slashing action, SEGA announced today that four of their dititally distributed titles will be seeing leaving your wallet a little bit heavier. The full list can be found at the SEGA blog, but some highlights are:

  • Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode I— 800 MSP (XBLA), $9.99 (PSN), $2.99 (iOS)
  • ChuChu Rocket! / ChuChu Rocket! HD— $2.99/$4.99 (iPhone/iPad)
  • Phantasy Star Portable— $15.99 (PSP)
  • Phantasy Star 2, Gunstar Heroes, Altered Beast— $0.99 (iPhone)

The newly lowered prices will only last until January 3rd, so that gives you about two weeks to hop on them if you want one of these titles.

Although Bethesda just announced The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, that doesn't mean they've stopped work on everything else.  The noted RPG developer released a new trailer which shows the world of Hunted, a fantasy game that works in elements of competitive shooters.

Hunted: Demon Forge will be released on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3 next May.
