For people who aren't retro gamers, the name Yars' Revenge might not ring much of a bell. The side-scrolling shooter, developed by Atari for the 2600, was the best selling game on the 2600 and now it is being brought into the latest generation by Atari.
The updated version of Yars' Revenge will feature a graphical overhaul that gives the game a set of anime-style visuals. Also added to the mix will be co-op play and a new, more fleshed out storyline that gives more depth to the narrative of a nameless Yar on her quest to destroy her master. Yars' Revenge will be released in Q1 2011 for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
