With the growth of Facebook, more and more video game companies are tying in their releases with games on the popular social networking site in order to build up some buzz and allow players to unlock content in the game. The latest title to get this treatment is Dragon Age 2, as EA announced today that Bioware's upcoming RPG will be preempted with a Facebook app titled Dragon Age Legends.
Legends will be released in February and will give players a chance to explore the Free Marches, the primary setting of Dragon Age 2 while experiencing "an engaging storyline, earning loot, sharing rewards and growing their kingdom". As they progress, gamers will be able to unlock content for Dragon Age 2 so long as they have an EA account. With the partnership between EA and Facebook now cemented this looks to be the first in a long line of these types of tie-in games.
The second Dragon Age game will launch on March 8th, 2011.
