HP and Hynix are going to be working together to bring memristor memory into the market. Memristors, memory resistors, have the potential to be the universal memory that people have been struggling to find. If they become cheap to manufacture, we will be blessed with "hard drives" as fast as ram. We would also get non-volatile memory, like Flash, which would last longer and use less power. Exciting times. Get some more information about the HP/ Hynix collaboration here.
