After NBA Elite was delayed last week and effectively canceled, we expected there to be a lot of news regarding NBA Jam from the Xbox 360 and PS3 side of things. The Wii version seemed like it was pretty much figured out but not really that relevant since most people who have Wiis tend not to play sports games. But while this news may not be that relevant either, it's sure interesting: you can play as political figures in NBA Jam for the Wii.
ESPN revealed today that you can play as a member of a Democratic or Republican party leader. The Democratic team consists of Barrack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, bro king Bill Clinton, The Hilldog, Hilary Clinton and Al Gore. The GOP team has John McCain, George W. Bush, Sarah Palin and Dick Cheney. Astute Jam students will know that Bill and Hilary were in the original back in the day.
There are also older NBA stars like Patrick Ewing, John Starks but neither Shawn Kemp or his kids could make it into the game for licensing reasons. Same goes for the Round Mound of Rebound, Charles Barkley. The Fresh Prince and DJ Jazzy Jeff are also there for whatever reason. NBA Jam hit on October 5th for Wii and should come out for 360 and PS3 sometime this quarter.
