The inaugural version of NBA Elite 11, the successor to the long running and improving Live series, has been delayed within a week of its scheduled release. There is no word as to whether the game will be released at all though speculation abounds that they'll just wait until next year to come back with a better offering. Reception has been horribly underwhelming for the demo that hit last week and EA apparently realized that if this game was terrible, as assumed, it might end any chance they have in the basketball arena against juggernaut NBA 2K. It should be noted that it took EA until last month to finally show any gameplay footage for Elite, which was universally panned so this isn't exactly a surprise. Stayed tuned to pnosker.com for more thoughts on this as well as basketball games in general tomorrow.
