The Samsung Galaxy S, the newest Android powered smartphone from the Korean manufacturer, has been making waves across the world with its 110 country simultaneous launch this past week. The sleek phone comes jam packed with a beautiful 4 inch 480×800 pixel Super AMOLED screen (Samsung claims it is superior to the iPhone 4's retina technology), 1 GHz Snapdragon processor, 16 GB of onboard memory, 3.5 mm headphone jack, WiFi, 512 mb of ram, and 5 megapixel camera. The phone will sport the Samsung Touch Wiz 3.0 UI over the Android 2.1 operating system. Samsung recently released information about a U.S. event on June 29th where they will most likely release carrier information and pricing for North American markets. The phone has been rumored to be coming to all four major carriers, but nothing has been confirmed.
If released for AT&T, it will most likely release as the Samsung i897 Captivate. FCC filings have been released for the phone already, and it appears to sport the same specs, but with a slightly different casing and 2 GB of memory, as opposed to the 16 GB of the Galaxy S.
