Yesterday during a Execute Club speech Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha let slip some information about the companies plans for the rest of the year. According to Jha's comments, before years end the company would release a smartphone with a lightning fast 2 GHz processor. Although he said little more, an anonymous inside source later said that the new smartphone would include HD video camera, HD resolution, HD 720p out, Flash 10.1 (indicating Android 2.2) and most importantly the NVIDIA Tegra GPU. If this phone does surface before years end with these features, it would be powerful enough to eat the other smartphones on the market. The 2 GHz processor would dwarf even the dual core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm processor set to begin appearing soon, and the Tegra GPU will add unheard of speed, graphics support, video playback, and gaming ability. Motorola seems to be saving their best phones for Verizon as of late, but no firm details were available on potential carriers.
