Apple’s Store App now includes Personal Pickup and EasyPay

Apple recently updated its Apple Store app to version 4.2 and is now available to download (for free) from the App Store. The new version will bring with it, two important features: Personal Pickup and EasyPay.

Personal Pickup is a functionality which offers a customer thee ability to order something in the app and either have it shipped to them, or pick it up at a nearby Apple Retail Store. As of right now, this feature is only available within the US market and Apple states that “most in-stock orders are available for pickup within an hour.” But if an item isn’t in stock, the app will give you an estimate on when it will become available for pickup, and send a push notification when the item becomes available. .

The second feature on the new version is called EasyPay and it stays true to its name. With EasyPay, a customer is able to simplify their shopping experience by scanning the barcode of the desired object and completing the purchase within the app. And if an Apple employee wants to check to make sure you’re not a thief, EasyPay provides a receipt. But before you think you can just waltz into an Apple Store, scan your Mac Book Pro and walk out of there, be forewarned that the app does come with some limitations. First, it is only available for “select accessories,” and second, because of the cameras on older models, this new functionality is only available for the iPhone 4 and 4S and hasn’t been optimized for the iPad yet.

To download the most recent version of the app simply go to Apple’s App Store.
