Google Adds Zagat Reviews to Google Plus

Google made a big splash when they purchased Zagat, the restaurant rating company, last year. Since then, Google’s been quite on what its plans were for the newly acquired company. Many had speculated some sort of search integration and so Google’s decision to include Zagat information on their social network Google+ is no surprise. Trying to become more popular with users Google has been making a number of improvements to Google+ in an effort to make it a more social system and the inclusion of Zagat reviews in addition to recommendations from the people in your circles goes a long way to achieve that.

So how does it work? Well, when you search for a listing or restaurant, you’ll be given standard search results as well as friend’s reviews or recommendations. Furthermore, you will also be able to see Zagat reviews as an additional option. But the new Zagat isn’t the way you remember it. The five star rating system of the past has transformed into the much larger spectrum of 30 points.

The new Zagat rating system and the way it populates on search pages should be rolling out to Google+ users and Google says that the iOS and Android Google+ apps will also be updated soon. You can check out the videos below to get a better idea of what these changes will mean for you.
