Amazon’s Kindle Fire to be Announced Tomorrow

As the release of Amazon’s Tablet nears, leaks have revealed that Amazon will announce it’s Kindle Fire at a NYC Press Conference tomorrow.  With the firesales of the HP Touchpad, Amazon has taken note that lower cost tablets have a reasonable chance against the iPad and will price their new Kindle at around half the cost of the iPad, or near $250.

Instead of speculated names such as the Kindle Touch and Kindle Tablet, Amazon has decided to use Kindle Fire. It should feature a smaller touchscreen, likely between 7 and 9 inches, and a highly customized Android 2.1 operating system (which will likely look nothing like most Android Tablets such as those from Samsung) which will take advantage of it’s lower clocked TI dual core processor.

Expect it to feature the Amazon app along with its streaming service. It may also be bundled with its Prime service which includes free 2-day shipping and unlimited video streaming for $79 a year.

While it will be announced tomorrow, don’t expect to see it until around Thanksgiving.
