Apple will be sharing the stage with another major tech 2.0 player when it reveals its iPhone 5 on October 4th. Mashable has learned that Facebook will also be at the Apple event and will launch its long-awaited iPad app. Though Facebook’s relationship with Apple has been frosty in the past, it looks like the two companies have moved beyond any past grievances and have teamed up with one goal in mind – crush Google.
Apple needs Facebook because they are the prominent social platform available, and Facebook needs Apple because they are the prominent mobile platform available (though Google may have something to say about that with all the Android-powered smartphones on the market). Thus, there is no better reconciliation of two former unfriendly companies than to launch key products while sharing the stage and spotlight.
Facebook will also unveil its new iPhone app, which is said to mimic the to-be-release iPad app in speed and functionality.
It’s been quite a week for Facebook, as they released their latest version of their web-based platform, which is much more different than past changes. It looks like Facebook will be continuing their recent innovative time a few weeks further.
