This is not good for Sony, which has proven largely incompetent when it comes to security. LulzSec, a hacking group that has previously hacked Sony BMG’s Japanese website according to Forbes, is promising more attacks that could start within the next day.
They’ve declared in Tweets that “this is the beginning of the end for Sony.” That’s not good. Hopefully Sony has been largely upgrading things behind the scenes but unfortunately since they’ve been completely incompetent, we have no idea what security enhancements have been enacted for the PSN and PS Store.
Phase One of the operation will apparently begin within the next day. At least they gave Sony Memorial Day off. But hopefully Sony has it all together. We’re not sure if this is the same group that hacked the PSN previously, but I guess they’re gonna show us what they’ve got. Sigh. Where do I get an Xbox 360?
