For those of you who aren't aware, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit is coming out today, in the process bringing the long-running racing series into the limelight. Capitalizing on this attention, EA has announced that they are bringing out another racing game Shift 2 Unleashed, a title which will represent the NFS franchise despite not carrying the name.

Shift 2 will be released in Spring 2011 and will feature a "massive" graphical overhaul, realistic wear and tear on tracks and cars, and a new, in-helmet camera in an attempt to combine the adrenaline of the Need For Speed series with the authentic driving experience of a sim racer. It will also feature the Autolog features pioneered in Hot Pursuit and will be available for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
